Mini test for lesson 10 and upcoming unit test

First, I am glad to see most of students got better scores in this mini test. I am surprised. Over half got 100! They are: Katie, Julie, Pete, Raymond, Lawrence. All other kids got good score also. Their achievement must have your contributions inside. They are happy also when they get good score and learn some new knowledge. It improves their confidence on learning Chinese, also improve confidence for themselves. Parents' help are very important. As we only have 2 hours each week, without your supervising and help, kids can hardly learn anything.

Second, please review the unit we just learned in winter break: lesson 8, 9, 10 &11. There are 4 lessons in this unit. Content is more than last one. We've almost finished this unit. The first class of Jan we'll review lesson 11 and do some exercises. On Jan, 14th we'll do unit exercises. Jan 21 we'll have unit test. Hope everyone get a good score also.

Have a great holiday and enjoy it!

Mini Test Status Update

We had a mini test in the Thanksgiving week. Some students got a good score----100: Yingmei Chen, Magnus Chu, Katie Liu, Billy Zhao. Another mini test was taken 3 weeks ago. Three students got full score: Yingmei Chen, Billy Zhao and Raymond Zhuang.

Do you think mini test is a burden for your kids? If yes, please let me know. I can decrease the frequency.

Chinese Speaking Practice in the Class

As some parents suggested, we'll have speech time for about 15 minutes every week. There will be 3-4 students speak in public. They can share or talk about anything they like, as long they speak in Chinese. It encourages them speak and think in Chinese.

Welcome Message from the New Class Teacher

I'm Jenny Yuan, the new teacher of middle class. It's my pleasure to teach students in Chinese school, though it's hard to be a successor of Teacher Liang. She is a very good teacher and dedicate a lot on teaching Chinese. I appreciate her help. She's always a good teacher worth of our respect and remembering.

Unit Test 2 Status Update

There're 14 students attended. 7 of them got a good score: over 90. The best one is 99: Xinmei Chen. Second is 96: Yingmei Chen and Andrew Yu.

All contents of test had been reviewed before test. There's a little hard on last question, only Xinmei Chen get full score. This question was asked in the class before test and I've given the answer. The answer is very simple: He's nice, or he think of others first. But the answer should be writen in Chinese. The goal of this question is letting students take exercise on writing and thinking in Chinese.

Score is not very important. I hope every student learn something in Chinese school. This is the most important.
